WHAT IS A HEART?

What is a heart?
This is a tricky question
Ask 2 people and they will answer it differently.
One will give it a good description,
The other one will give it a dishonorable one,
But will nevertheless be right.

I, however, will describe mine:
  • A device of good-will intent, a remorseful saint of other hearts I rent.
  • An engine re-fueled with good deeds well spent.
  • A child of correction who needs to repent.
  • A father desiring the children of wisdom.
  • A mother's care, who nurtures her kids.
  • A friend to strangers who've accepted me in.
  • A light to the blind, and their fountain of strength.
  • A device of good-will intent, a remorseful saint of other hearts I rent.
  • A savior redeemed by the Lamb's covenant,
  • A living epistle of mercies unended.
  • A home of welcome to newcomers from sin.

What is a heart?
This is a tricky question
I can answer this question myself, and only for myself.
I don't know what yours is, but I will describe mine.
Once again:
  • The epitome of true love, humbled by grace.
  • The victor of trials that brings laughter to face.
  • The "V" in the virtue, when loved-ones despise.
  • An owner of land, to reserve God my place.

  • A martyr for glory.
  • An everlasting story.
  • A forgiving charter.
  • A "passer-by's"  harbor.

What is a heart?
This is a tricky question.
Perhaps, it is the flesh bearing the marks of its creator.
His inspiration inspired me, once again:
  • A plant rooted in immortal thought.
  • A seed planted in mortal ground.
  • A child raised in honor, of father and mother.
  • A treasure found, like brother to brother.
  • The poor - malnourished of  "hate."
  • The rich  -  wealthy in compassion, with an empty plate.
  • The servant - worthy of his master's plan.
  • The drunken - full of his master's grace.

This is how I describe mine heart, but my savior exposes it by his true light.
I am a being striving for perfection. A soldier in prayer for Divine connections.
Treading through valleys of spiritual war, to reach the "Promised Land,"
Where no man has gone before.
This is my true story, and my song.

Ask another, and she may give you a description different from mine.
Hers may be, once again:
  • A heart is a deceptive device.
  • A deceitful teacher, who appears to be nice.
  • And generous in lies if you ask it twice.
  • A parachute that won't open, to save your life.

  • A heart is a seed, planted in bad soil.
  • A friend who'll leave you, in  times of turmoil.
  • A light turned off.
  • A brother lost.

  • The heart is wicked, a befriender of fools.
  • The mechanic with good intentions, who lacks all his tools.
  • Takes pleasure in wrong.
  • A bomb with a fuse.

What is a heart?
This is a tricky question
I can answer this question myself, and only for myself.
I don't know what your heart is.
You, and you only, can answer this question yourself.

However, I will ask you this same question. What is your heart?
Will you say, perhaps:
  • Your heart is a lover, who knows her own,
  • Your pride and joy, a happy home?
  • Your memoir of treasuring thoughts,
  • You can't throw away for the memories it brought?

  • Your heart is a chest, full of kindness to share,
  • A clothing charity, when your loved-one is bare?
  • A passionate "cat,"  when your mate is in heat,
  • A Destine for hope, when your Love's at its peak?

  • Your heart is a sculpture, formed by your words,
  • Your life-changing experience, when "I LOVE YOU" is heard?
  • Your volt of wire, when tied to an oath,
  • A messenger to the one you tell, "I love you so?"
I can't judge your heart, and you can't judge mine. God only knows.
